Crispy Tempura Prawns


600 g big Prawns – shell and deveined with tail intact
Oil for deep frying
Seasoning Ingredients
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 egg white
1 tbsp corn flour
1 tsp oil
Batter ingredients
120 g self raising flour
180 g rice flour
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt and sugar
1-1/2 cups water
1) Marinade Prawns with seasoning ingredients for about 20 minutes.
2) Soft both kinds of flour, baking powder into a mixing bowl. Add in salt and sugar, mix well.for Make a well in the centre and gradually blend in water until batter is smooth. It should be slightly thick.
3) Heat oil for deep frying in a wok. Dip seasoned prawns in thick batter and deep fry till golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper.
Serve hot.
